No children’s film. This is a tough watch at times, using a fantastical device and Patrick Ness’ remarkable magic storytelling to address often unsaid truths about the trauma of long term illness.
I found this incredibly moving. You see, I lost my own lovely Dad in the last year, so inevitably it stirred up some pretty raw emotions.
But this a wonderful and powerful piece of fantastical cinema.
