The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Maki ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Three out of five stars.

It’s the Sixties and Finnish boxer  Olli Maki makes a bid for the world title in Helsinki –  but will he lose the love of his life in the process?

Charming movie shot on 35mm black and white film stock which only adds to its appeal and sixties vibe.

Yet ultimately it feels a little inconsequential, with characters including the leads only lightly sketched.

In spite of these reservations this is an easy watch; a delightful 90 minutes.
