Sully

Three out of five stars.

An unexpected choice for this year’s Surprise Movie at the London Film Festival. Sully is a classy well made version of an episode of “999”,  directed by the legendary Clint Eastwood, but without Michael Burke’s narration.

At 90 minutes, multiple re- enactments pad out the brief  running time, but the film is anchored by the ever dependable and watchable Tom Hanks as Sully himself.

If you don’t know the true and very remarkable story, think ‘Airport’ but with less fatalities. And if you don’t mind me saying so, a little less drama.

So a Surprise Movie lacking that element of surprise then!
