Good direction (Greengrass), charismatic star power (Damon) can’t surmount the hurdle that the scripting is very lacklustre. Tony Gilroy’s contribution to installments One to Four is sorely missed.
Sorry, less Jason Bourne, more Jason Bore.

IMHO a spot-on assessment! Although the action sequences – of which there are many! – are exciting, not much effort on the screenplay. It was like one extended car chase in different spots around the world.
