The Jungle Book (2016)

Four of five stars.

I bet all the other Hollywood studios wanna be like Disney at the moment.

Continuing a phenomenal run of box office success, I couldn’t believe that this magical reimagining of the sixties animated classic was all shot in studio in Los Angeles.

Vocal work is spot on -casting take a bow here – could you get any better than Bill Murray as a modern take on Phil Harris’ beloved Baloo the bear?

Plotting is elegant and true in spirit to the original with a little more Kipling to add some grit to the story.

But it’s the stunning landscapes and extraordinary digital animation which stay in the heart and memory long after the film is over.

Oh, oobee doo.
