Good performances from a well cast ensemble elevate this from your average gay indie drama but the dreamy and at times steamy script cannot avoid the tendencies for films of this ilk to go a bit tangential and sometimes naval-gazingly abstract. Moreover, the neat and happy ending seems more fairytale idealism than reality. This is a nicely shot and assembled film about lonely people looking for love and connections but instead end up wallowing in the emptiness of sex. Potentially it has some good ideas but somehow it ends up being just another pretty picture with a pretty cast.
