Aimed squarely at kids, especially tweens, the simplistic story is very broadly sketched with them in mind, even though we are talking about Trolls being eaten alive by Bergens. With the main theme being that happiness is inside all of us and the saccharine and seizure inducing colours used, this film should come with an insulin injection; but it is saved by an affecting sincerity and MVP Justin Timberlake. His almost sophisticated but certainly inspired musical cues manage to appeal to audiences both old and young, while he also fares surprisingly well as a voice talent here.
